Texas (テキサス -TEXAS-, Tekisasu?) is a fighting stage found in the first Samurai Shodown videogame, which serves as stage for the character Earthquake. Another new Texas stage subtitled Pacific Railway is featured in Samurai Shodown II for Earthquake.

Description[]

The background of this place is amoung the mountains, which closely resembles a Grand Canyon. The soil is dry and cracked, with few desert plants, dry branches, and a trunk. Two tumbleweeds appear rolling through the stage from right to left.

Erroneously the game mentions Texas as an United States of America location, but based on real-life history and the year of the events of the first Samurai Shodown game, which take place at 1789 (a work of fiction after all), Texas was part of Mexico. Therefore, the correct nationality of Earthquake is mexican.

Musical themes[]

The song of this stage is called "Earth" (大地 - Daichi), which is notable for being a rock-oriented song with a light shakuhachi arrangement.
