Green Hell (グリーン ヘル -GREEN HELL-, Gurīn Heru?) is a stage featured in the original 1993 Samurai Shodown game produced by SNK for Neo Geo and other home consoles. Tam Tam is the character who fights in this stage during Arcade Mode, or when a new challenger chooses him in Versus Mode. In Samurai Shodown II this stage can be seen far away in Cham Cham's stage Green Hell Island.

Description[]

At the floor it can be seen green grass, and in the center of the battlefield there is a yellow carpet with a black lines and figures that forms a symbol from Tam Tam's tribe. On each side of the stage there is a pair of three-faced totems, which are interactive and can be destroyed with Slash attacks. At the back of the stage there is a lake with two jumping fish, which is filled by three waterfalls. Between the waterfall there are four smiling stone statues with decorated with red and green colors, and each face of the statues has different design; (from left to right) the first statue has covered his eyes with the hands, the second one the ears, the third statue covers its mouth, and the fourth statue has a pose that resembles covers the groin with both arms. Behind the statues there is a stone wall with carved figures, and the top of the wall is covered by bush. Further back can be seen the tops of large trees. In overall this stage its a kind of sanctuary for the tribe which Tam Tam belongs.

Green Hell stage is inspired by Mesoamerican, prehispanic civilizations like Aztecs, Mayans, Incas, among others.

Musical themes[]

"Foreigner" (異人 Ijin) is the name of the song for this stage, which have a tribal melody.
